About the role
We're an innovative tech startup behind a Shopify app designed to enhance the e-commerce experience for brands and their customers. Our mission is to empower online businesses with tools that drive engagement and simplify operations. As we prepare for future monetization strategies, we're looking for a dynamic, data-driven Growth Hacker to join our team.
As the Growth Hacker, you'll be at the forefront of our user acquisition, engagement, and retention efforts. You'll develop and implement strategies that exponentially grow our user base and increase active usage of our app. This role is ideal for a creative thinker who thrives in a startup environment and is excited about the challenge of scaling a free app with an eye toward future monetization.
Key responsibilities
Growth strategy development
- Design and execute innovative growth strategies focused on acquiring new users and retaining existing ones.
- Identify and prioritize growth opportunities through market research and user-data analysis.
User acquisition
- Develop cost-effective campaigns across channels including organic search, social media, content marketing, and partnerships.
- Implement viral loops, referral programs, and incentivized sharing to drive organic growth.
User engagement & retention
- Enhance user onboarding to improve activation rates.
- Implement engagement strategies such as push notifications, email campaigns, and in-app messaging.
- Analyze user behavior to identify drop-off points and optimize the user journey.
Data analysis & reporting
- Track KPIs such as MAUs, DAUs, retention rates, and engagement metrics using analytics tools.
- Provide regular reports with insights and recommendations to the executive team.
Product collaboration
- Work closely with the product team to suggest features that drive growth and improve user experience.
- Participate in A/B testing and experimentation to validate hypotheses.
Future monetization planning
- Contribute to monetization strategies, including premium features, in-app purchases, or advertising models.
- Prepare the user base for a smooth transition to monetized offerings.
Qualifications
Experience
- 6 to 9 years in a growth-focused role, preferably with free apps, SaaS products, or e-commerce.
- Proven track record of driving user acquisition and engagement without large marketing budgets.
Skills
- Strong understanding of growth-hacking techniques and viral marketing strategies.
- Proficient in analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or similar.
- Experience with SEO, content marketing, social media, and email marketing.
- Ability to analyze data to make informed decisions and optimize strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
